Residential Feature Walls
Rammed earth feature walls for homes, interior and exterior. These walls are the centrepiece of a home: tactile, warm, and completely unique. No two walls are the same. We manage formwork, material preparation, compaction, curing and sealing from start to finish.
Structural Load-Bearing Walls
Rammed earth used as primary structural walling in residential construction. The project's structural engineer is responsible for structural design and project-specific engineering documentation. Rammed Designs constructs the rammed earth scope to the approved design and provides construction records, material testing and QA documentation for our work. Where a Performance Solution is required, the project engineer and certifier determine the applicable NCC compliance pathway, and we supply the information they need for our scope.
Retaining Walls
Stabilised rammed earth retaining walls for sloped sites and landscaping applications. Constructed to your engineer's specification for your specific site conditions, with drainage and waterproofing details incorporated into the build process, not bolted on as an afterthought.
Curved & Architectural Walls
Curved rammed earth walls are technically complex and visually dramatic. We have the custom formwork capability and the experience to deliver curved walls that are geometrically accurate. Curved walls are subject to engineered design. Ideal for architects pursuing something genuinely distinctive.
Freestanding & Boundary Walls
Freestanding rammed earth walls for gardens, courtyards, and property boundaries. Built for stability without building attachment, to the engineer's design where required. A long-lasting alternative to rendered brick or concrete block, with a sensible inspection routine.
Commercial & Architectural Projects
We take on commercial projects where the specification demands a specialist. If your project has a rammed earth element, such as a feature wall, lobby wall or landscaping structure, we're experienced at working within the documentation, programme and quality requirements of commercial construction.
Maintenance & Restoration
We can inspect existing rammed earth walls and discuss maintenance or repair options. Scope is confirmed following assessment.

We work regularly with architects and builders as a specialist subcontractor. We can provide early advice on mix colour, finish options and construction sequencing, coordinate with your structural engineer on connection and embedment details, provide colour samples for client approval before construction, and supply compressive strength test reports for handover. Where a Performance Solution is required, the project engineer and certifier determine the compliance pathway, and we supply the information they need for our scope.
We understand the documentation requirements of the building approval process and can provide the documentation your certifier typically requires.
